Important Notice: Beware of Email Phishing Scams

Thank you for your patronage to Hotel New Otani Tokyo.

There have recently been multiple incidents of malicious emails and other forms of text messages impersonating a hotel, attempting to steal personal information and/or credit card details from the recipient. These messages contain links to fraudulent webpages that are elaborately crafted to appear as the hotel’s official website, where the user is requested to enter various confidential info.

Should you receive any messages regarding a reservation you did not make or are suspicious in any other way, DO NOT tap its links or open any attached files, and immediately delete the message.

Typical characteristics of a malicious message:

  • Poses as a confirmation for a hotel reservation, or a request to modify the details of such bookings
  • Contains links to webpages where the recipient is urged to enter personal information
  • Pressures the recipient to immediately provide credit card and/or account details

*New Otani Hotels does not use emails or other types of text messages as a means to ask its guests for personal/credit card information, or any form of payment.

Thank you for your attention regarding this matter.
