Chiburijima is the smallest among the Dōzen islands of the Oki archipelago, a registered UNESCO Global Geopark comprised of sixteen islands of which only four are permanently inhabited. Located in the Sea of Japan six hundred kilometers west of Tokyo, where the warm and cold currents merge and minerals from the untouched nature of the islands flow into the sea to add to its already nutrition-rich waters, it is recognized as an area populated with a wide array of species of fish throughout the year. The fish are caught manually using fishing rods, then transported as fresh and as prompt as possible to the hotel via an exclusive route.
