The Oki islands are an archipelago in the Sea of Japan and a designated UNESCO Global Geopark. In such environment of pure nature, cattle are bred with thorough care to produce the finest quality of marbled beef that melts in the mouth with a smooth aftertaste. Only one thousand and two hundred cattle are born each year to be raised as Okigyu (Oki beef), of which only ten percent are born and raised solely on the islands making them a sought-after breed of Japanese Black Wagyu.
