- Fossils
- Careful observers will note that the four stepping-stones in the pond are actually not stones - in fact, they are fossilized roots of a huge tree. These rare fossils have sat here ever since the days of the samurai lord, Kiyomasa Kato, in the 16th century.
- Trees
- Trees planted in the Garden total an amazing number of approximately 50 thousand, 500 of them towering over 3 meters. Visitors can find a wide variety of trees such as pine, maple, oak or camphor, some of which are over 300 years old.
