Fossils

Careful observers will note that the four stepping-stones in the pond are actually not stones - in fact, they are fossilized roots of a huge tree. These rare fossils have sat here ever since the days of the samurai lord, Kiyomasa Kato, in the 16th century.
Trees

Trees planted in the Garden total an amazing number of approximately 50 thousand, 500 of them towering over 3 meters. Visitors can find a wide variety of trees such as pine, maple, oak or camphor, some of which are over 300 years old.
